Video games based on professional wrestling has been around for decades now. Since the days of Arcades, developer Yuke's and publisher 2K Sports have created critically acclaimed titles that feature the biggest stars of sports entertainment, from John Cena to The Rock'and WWE 2K15 for the PlayStation 4 is certainly no exception.

Unlike titles from the past, WWE 2K15 features a new-gen graphics engine, a roster of more than 100 unique Superstars and Divas, and lighting improvements that provide a stunningly natural and realistic look for the virtual grapplers. In addition, the game introduces a number of unique gameplay features, such as a brand-new grappling system, experience system, and a comprehensive career campaign mode. The WWE Universe Mode also returns, giving players the freedom to create their own shows, storylines, and Superstar matches.

Topping off these features is WWE 2K15's roster of characters, which contains the biggest names in wrestling, including John Cena, Randy Orton, The Rock, and CM Punk. Also included are a number of past Superstars, such as Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Sgt. Slaughter, and Triple H. Female Divas like A.J. Lee, Nikki Bella, and the Bella Twins are also included, making this one of the most comprehensive rosters of characters in any wrestling video game.

In terms of actual gameplay, WWE 2K15 takes an interesting approach. Instead of relying heavily on having players input button combinations and memorize special moves'a staple of most of the past games'it instead focuses on timing-based grappling and countering. As the player battles their opponents, they'll need to keep an eye on their fatigue levels, as well as working to fill up their special meter. Once it's filled up, their Superstar can perform signature moves, giving the player a temporary advantage over their opponent.

Career Mode also plays a major role in the game. Unlike traditional wrestling games, the career mode presented in WWE 2K15 is much more story-driven, and features its own branching storylines depending on the choices players make during their Superstar's journey to the top. Players can also take on special challenges, such as grudge matches, to unlock bonus content and rewards.

If players are in the mood for something a bit less serious, they can always dip into the game's Showcase Mode, which pits current Superstars (like John Cena) against past icons (like the Ultimate Warrior) in a series of special matches.

Whether it's taking control of the biggest names in wrestling in Career Mode, or maybe just competing in a few matches with friends, WWE 2K15 is an excellent entry in the series, with plenty of features and characters to trip up even the most hardcore wrestling fan.
