The PS4 Resident Evil 5 is a survival horror third-person shooter video game developed and published by Capcom. The game was released in March 2009 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and in September 2012 for Microsoft Windows. It is the seventh installment in the Resident Evil series, and the first to be released in high definition.

The game takes place in the fictitious Kijuju Autonomous Zone, a war torn region of West Africa. Players take control of Chris Redfield, an agent of the special forces organization Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, which is tasked with investigating the proliferation of bio-organic weapons, or B.O.W.s. Players join forces with Sheva Alomar, a new character to the series, with exclusive weapon skills, to fight against the powerful forces of black Ops organization Unbrella and the insidious B.O.W.s they have unleashed across Africa.
